So, I have a confession: Being Erica on SoapNet (SoapNet!) is my new favorite show.
I may or may not have watched the first season’s thirteen episodes over the course of just two days. The second season premieres tonight at 10pm.
Basically, this Canadian import—with its stellar acting, all too believable relationships and element of time travel—is awesome.
The premise is that our protagonist, Erica, is a single thirtysomething in Toronto, stuck in a dead end job, unlucky in love and still reeling from the untimely death of her brother. With the help of a very special therapist, she’s actually able to go back in time and try and undo the moments in her past that she regrets.
It sounds hokey but trust me, it’s not. It actually reminds me a little of Gilmore Girls, in that it’s warm and filled with a wonderfully eclectic supporting cast of characters.
Still haven’t convinced you to check it out on Hulu? Maybe some gushing by Entertainment Weekly will.
But seriously. I adore this show. Canada, I love you.
This is sometimes filmed right beside where I work, which is what triggered me into watching it. Erica babe, you’re quirky, you’re beautiful and you’ve got some mad issues; that’s why I luff yuh.
